TWO - October 1st and 2nd- 1 PM to 4 PM
TWO is a public project conceived to deepen the experience of the solo exhibitions by JOHN CURRIN and BERLINDE DE BRUYCKERE. We invite the public to share their interpretation of the duality of ugliness and beauty in an artistic context.
Is beauty synonymous with proportion and harmony? Does ugliness rhyme with monstrosity? What charm can we find in depravity?
Use your creativity to explore the themes of the exhibition in a personal way and take part in the creation of a collective, participatory artwork.
Create your work by drawing, writing or making a paper sculpture that responds to the statements “Beauty is....” and “Ugliness is...”.
The material needed will be made available in the Reference room (451 St-Jean). Projects will be shown in Reference throughout the exhibitions and will then be archived on the DHC/ART website.
